ABOUT

I've been creating stories my whole life. Ever since I was little (even shorter than I am now!)- I have loved writing and illustrating my own imagined worlds.

After achieving a First at Plymouth University for Art and Design I became a primary school teacher hoping to inspire a new generation to love books as much as I did/do! But the truth is I didn't just want to read amazing stories I wanted to make amazing stories, especially after having my own two boys. So I decided to hone my craft. Last year I completed the Golden Egg Academy 12 Month Picture Book course. I disovered I like to write humourous stories full of word play, twists and turns. Not long after, I became a member of the SCWBI to learn more about the industry and meet other creatives.

To develop my illustration skills, I joined Orange Beak and have had mentoring sessions with Vivian French of Picture Hooks. Through their feedback I have learnt that I love making people laugh with my drawings as much as my words, adding little details for children to spot and making my characters come alive on the page.

I am really passionate about making books that make reading a pleasure so I am always ready for a new project. If you want to work with me give me a shout! I look forward to hearing from you.
